One crew from Cambridge, one crew from Burwell and a rescue vehicle from Cambridge were called to reports of a large male horse stuck on a bar inside a horsebox at the junction of Newmarket Road and Little Wilbraham Road on the A1303 at 4.40pm.

A vet sedated the animal and firefighters used specialist animal rescue techniques and equipment to rescue the horse. Crews returned to their stations by 5.55pm.
