A MOTORIST was cut free by firefighters after his Ford Fiesta left the A47 near Wisbech and ended up in a ditch.

Two fire crews from Wisbech and a rescue vehicle from Dogsthorpe attended the accident on the A47 Wisbech bypass near Elme Hall Hotel at 9am on Saturday.

A fire service spokesman said the collision involved two vehicles, one of which ended up in a dry ditch.

“One casualty was extricated from the car by crews due to the nature of their injuries,” said the spokesman. “Crews were back at their stations by 9.50am.”
