Fire fighters who released this photo of the aftermath of a collision on the A47 today said it was fortunate no one was seriously injured.
The collision between two lorries happened on the Thorney by pass and closed the road for several hours while the debris was cleared. Fire crews from Thorney. Crews from Whittlesey, Stanground and Dogsthorpe were in attendance.
A spokesman said: “Fortunately nobody was seriously injured. One casualty was released using specialist cutting equipment.”
Diversions were put in place following the accident that happened between the B1167 and the B1040 near Thorney.
Both lorries involved in the incident were on the eastbound carriageway of the Thorney by pass and one shed part of its load of scrap metal to the other.
