Fire services use crash aftermath to appeal for more fire fighters to boost numbers at Chatteris and March

Cambs fire service has used the aftermath of a collision on the A141 yesterday to appeal for more on-call firefighters.
A spokesman said: “March and Chatteris on-call fire crews helped rescue a casualty from this road traffic collision yesterday morning.
“Our on-call firefighters are invaluable in our fire and rescue service, allowing us to provide emergency cover to Cambridgeshire.
“We’re always recruiting on-call firefighters.”
The A141 Wimblington junction was closed for a time following the two vehicle crash.
A silver Ford Fiesta and blue/green Vauxhall Corsa were involved in the collision, which happened at around 8am. Luckily, no one was injured.
Several ambulances, at least two fire engines and police officers attended the incident.
Police closed the road at both directions due to the incident. Manea Road onto the A141 was also closed because of traffic.
