QUALITETCH Components, of March, has won a silver National Clean Air Award for its commitment to protecting employees and customers from the dangers of second-hand smoke.
The company won the award when it undertook a review of its smoking policy.
Managing director Alexander Craig said: "A designated smoking room was provided for the smokers within our company.
"However, this did not completely shield the majority of our staff from the effects of second-hand smoke, so we introduced a policy for off-site smoking only.
"We have combined this with an on-site smoking mentor to advise smokers of the assistance that is now available from the NHS to work towards quitting."
A silver award is given to premises where there is no smoking allowed inside any buildings, but with smoking permitted outside in designated areas.
