SECRETARY June Dempsey welcomed members and guests to March and District Flower Club's annual meeting and conducted the meeting. Chairman Marjorie Blake had resigned because of ill health. A letter was received from chief fund-raiser and programme secretary Doreen Lenton who is also resigning through ill health.
The secretary reviewed a successful year with varied demonstrations. The annual trip to Dairy Barns had also been a success.
Subscriptions will have to go up 50p owing to the cost of demonstrators' travelling expenses.
Officerl elected were: Chairman, Edith Jones; secretary, June Dempsey; treasurer, Anne Lombardo; committee, Shay Lynn, Lesley Wright, Edna McGoff, Vi Leeper, Carol Goodyear and Marie Whittlesea.
After the annual meeting members enjoyed a social evening and an impromptu display of Christmas decorations by Vi Leeper.
At the next meeting, on October 10 (6.30 for 7pm), there will be a demonstration by John Richmond entitled 'By Arrangement'.
