IN the absence of chairman Marjorie Blake, Marie Whittlesea opened the June meeting of March and District Flower Club and reminded everyone of the outing to Dairy Barns in August. There are still a few seats left and anyone interested should call June Dempsey. Members were asked to support June Dempsey and June Bevis who are organising cream teas at St Peter's old rectory on June 27 from 3pm, cost £3.

Demonstrator was Lisa Wiles whose topic was 'Summer Glory', involving lilies, roses, gerberas and peonies. As she worked she asked if the club had considered going to High Grove House (the home of Prince Charles) for its annual trip, pointing out that her own had visited but it took two years to arrange because everyone had to be vetted. However, it was worth it in the end.

Doreen Lenton ran the lottery draw. Winners of the draw for the arrangements were Mrs Goodyear, Mrs D Lenton, Mrs A Lombardo, Mrs D Risley, Mrs B Nicholas and Mrs Q Morley.

Next meeting: July 11 at Trinity Hall (6.30 for 7pm).
