The 55th Gorefield Show was enjoyed by crowds who enjoyed a Royal Airforce flypast with a Dakotas followed by the popular pony and horse event.

The show kicked off with the much expanded pony show, now a qualifier for B.S.P.S. and P.U.K.

The ponies were closely followed by their larger relatives, the heavy horses. Shires, Percherons and Suffolk Punch were exhibited in the main ring which organisers said was a fantastic spectacle.

There was a falconry display in the main ring courtesy of Mike Willis and his team, a gyroscope and a greasy pole, bouncy castle, swing boats, a teacup ride and athletic competitions with cash prizes.

The main attraction was a show favourite David Seamark and his sheepdog and geese herding display.

There was a parade of classic and vintage cars and tractors, fancy dress and novelty dog classes.

This year there was a new fancy dress class open to all competitors with a dog or a horse/pony.

The showground also boasted a range of side shows and country stalls.
