DOG breeder Joy Weschke is crying out for the Forty Foot road to be closed, as vehicles crashing into her premises have cost the lives of 18 of her German shepherd puppies.
Pointing to crushed trees and smashed dog runs, she said: "Oh please get this road closed. We residents have been asking for the road to be access-only for years.
"Lorries and cars have gone out of control and smashed into my kennels four times in four years.
"Because of all the disruption I have lost 18 puppies from three separate litters, either the mother suffered shock and puppies were absorbed, or they were stillborn or died when tiny."
Ms Weschke, 48, who runs High Trees Kennels, said: "All the accidents down here have had such a traumatic effect on my dogs. It would be fantastic to have this road closed to through traffic. I'm all for it.
