An annual darts tournament and fun day raised more than £8,000 for a hospital.
It was standing room only in the GER in March as 114 people signed up for various darts tournaments and many more were present for an auction, prize draw and tombola.
A framed display of a Manchester United shirt, including a signed photograph of Eric Cantona, fetched £500.
Other lots that went on the day included a framed England rugby shirt signed by Lawrence Dallaglio and Johnny Wilkinson (as well as other squad members) for £450, and an England shirt signed by nine players that formed part of the 1966 World Cup winning squad for £280.
All proceeds from the day will go to the oncology department at Peterborough City Hospital, where organiser, police officer and father-of-two Mark Cross received treatment for breast cancer in 2009.
This was the fourth year that the charity day has been held - it has now raised almost £23,000.
Mr Cross said: “Phenomenal, awesome, stupendous, words cannot do justice to the event. The response was amazing.
“Early indications suggest that when all auction lots are paid for and all monies are in we will have raised in the region of £8,150.
“I can not thank all those enough who supported the event and the many people who donated wonderful items on the day.
“Special mention must go to my mum and dad Ann and Dick Cross and my wonderful wife Kim who worked tirelessly securing draw prizes, as well as my nan Jackie Healey who donated the entirety of the tombola prizes and made £280 on the day.
“Also thank you to Gill Day who donated an abundance of prizes, Les Hodkinson who never fails in obtaining wonderful prizes, Bill and Margaret Turvey who with my mum and dad ran a fantastic draw on the day and Craig Gilpatrick, Tony Barnes and Andy Dean and all of the GER Committee and bar staff for their continued support.
“Kathy Dudley who runs her charity business ‘Open Chest’ in March never fails to surprise me and presented me with a cheque for £2,000, an absolutely amazing, generous gesture, for which I was genuinely stunned. Words cannot express my gratitude to Kathy.”
Mr Cross also thanked board sponsors JMC Construction, Bob Harrington, The Sportsman (Chatteris), GER Hot Shotz darts team, Parkfield darts team, Fraser Dawbarns Solicitors, MPV Private Hire and Darren Wojtowych Garden Services.
The darts winners on the day were Terry Redhead, Simon Willmott and Shane Godfrey in the Cricket Triples, Paul Wenn and Peter Barnes in the Pairs, Liam Moore in the Youth Singles and Les Hodkinson, who retained his title, in the Singles.
