The Friends of Doddington Hospital received a £400 boost thanks to a charity evening held at the GER Sports Club in March.

The fundraiser and entertainment was organised by Paul Rogers from the band Dark Surrender.

The money will go towards buying equipment for Doddington Community Hospital.

This year the performers were singer-songwriter Sophie, Alchemy singing the old favourites and Dark Surrender playing rock classics from five decades and Andy J doing the disco.

At the end of the evening the cheques were donated to Maureen Coker, secretary of the Doddington branch of the Friends of the Doddington Hospital.

Paul thanked everybody for their support and will organise another fundraiser in Apri.

The Doddington branch is responsible for operating the hospital shop and is looking for volunteers to serve in the shop on a rota system.

Call 01354 653739 if you have a spare three to four hours and would be interested in helping out at the shop.

The Friends of Doddington Hospital has branches in Chatteris and Benwick, Doddington, Manea, March. They are all looking for Volunteers to join them.
