FORTY-four members attended the fortnightly Friendship Club meeting in the village hall. The club hymn was sung and a minute's silence was observed in memory of member Jack Mackinder. Birthday greetings were sung to Jean Phillippo, Tony Watts and Jean Shepherd. Tea and biscuits were served by Freda Pearson and helpers. Cards and bingo were played. Winners of the lucky numbers game were John Barker, Peg Spinks, Jean Shepherd and Arthur Pearson. Draw prizes were won by Shirley Vaughan, Vera Brewer and John Barker. An auction of goods brought by members was conducted by Arthur Hallam.
