BCH Road Policing is a combination of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire’s police forces – they work 24 hours a day making the roads a safer place.

Each day the ‘tri-force’ tweets everything that goes on, we’ve documented this from beginning to end – here’s how yesterday (April 26) went.

The morning started stopping a driver, BCH said: “The driver was stopped and found to have his insurance quote but failed to action it! – reported for no insurance; Points and fine to follow.”

Not the best start to the day, next up the force share an image taken from a police car dash cam, they said: “The silver blur in lane four in the distance is a taxi.

“Three quarters of a mile at and well in excess of 100 mph followed by marked police car; Trip to court to lose licence and job likely to follow.”

As reports of an incident on the A1304 come in, BCH are quick to share updates from Cambridgeshire Police’s Twitter account.

Next up, the unit pull over a Vauxhall 4x4, they quickly discover the vehicle had no valid MOT, with 15 failures, no insurance and no tax, the car was seized and the driver was reported to court for multiple offences.

It must be 4x4 day as the next person to cross paths with BCH is the driver of a silver Range Rover.

They tweeted: “If you get disqualified and then the courts say you can drive again does NOT mean jump in the car and go.

When buying a new car, always make sure that you’ve completed all the steps to be able to drive on the roads – the force have now pulled over a Renault Clio.

The driver said he bought it two days earlier, he doesn’t remember who he bought it from or who he’s insured with – the vehicle is now seized and the famous ‘no insurance’ sticker has been placed in the window.

Now, the rules are very clear, do NOT use your mobile phone while driving; the next car, a black Jaguar, was pulled over.

The driver thought it was fine to use his phone and drive; he later realised it wasn’t when he received a £200 fine and six points on his licence.

Number plates, who needs them? YOU, they need to be the correct size, font and in the right position.

An Audi driver learnt that his tiny illegal front number plate doesn’t quite cut it; he was reported and can expect a fine.

The speed limits have been set for a reason, towards the end of the day BCH tweeted this: “No ‘99 red balloons’ on this occasion.

“Instead, a ban from driving. Please obey all speed limits” – attaching an image of a speed gun clocking a driver doing 99mph.

It’s the end of the day and BCH have pulled one final car over, they tweeted: “If you’re going to sit in the passenger seat whilst your mate drives as you don’t have a license please get insurance.

“Both owner and driver report for various offences and car seized.”
