Recycling old newspapers has raised enough money to fund an all expenses paid day trip for children from March.
The Kids Out 2017 day was made possible thanks to people who donate newspapers to March Rotary Club for their monthly collection in City Road car park on the second Saturday of every month from 9am to noon.
A spokesman said: “Thanks to the generosity of readers of this newspaper, 27 youngsters and 12 carers, from five primary schools in March, enjoyed an all-expenses paid day out at Sacrewell Farm, near Peterborough.
“These very happy children were a credit to their schools, being polite, well-mannered and fun. Five Rotarians were on hand, just in case there were of any hiccups, naturally there weren’t. We collect again on Saturday July 8.”
