TWO groups are a step closer to signing agreements with Fenland District Council over future funding.
The council's overview and scrutiny panel approved revised service level agreements with the Fenland Citizen's Advice Bureau and Wisbech and Fenland Museum, and recommended them to cabinet last Thursday.
Both organisations had failed to sign the original agreements, required by the council for groups receiving more than £5,000, after having serious concerns over financial cuts suggested in the agreements.
But Linda Hutchinson, manager of the CAB, said: "It is a vast improvement on what we have had in the past."
The panel heard from Mark Oatley, the council's economic and community development manager, that since Daniel Schumann joined the community development team, the council had been "working considerably" with the CAB and the museum to determine an agreement.
