A funeral company will plant a tree every time they conduct a funeral.
Anglia Co-operative Funerals will run the initiative, called Forever Green, from this month through until March.
Area manager Graham Wallace, responsible for the Wisbech branch, said: “It will ensure that future generations of tree stocks are replenished.
“Next of kin will be given details of the local managed woodland where the tree will be planted and they will be able to visit the woodland.
“The trees will be planted during each planting season, which runs from November until the following March.”
