A casket display and a close up look at a horse drawn hearse were just some of the highlights of an open day at a Chatteris funeral directors.
The day held at JH Landin and Son in High Street on Saturday was designed to give a glimpse behind the scenes at the busy funeral business and to also raise funds for New Life, the charity it is currently supporting.
Christine Day, of JH Landin, said: “We had quite a few people visit during the day and they seemed really interested in what we do. We had a horse drawn hearse on display and there was also an array of the different types of caskets people can choose including wicker and colourful painted ones. “This was a one-off event, but we might have another one some time in the future.”
Visitors also had a chance to sign up for funeral bonds.
