Some 16 lucky students from Meadowgate mixed special school, Wisbech, got let off lessons yesterday- and with the head’s blessing too.
Wisbech Rotary Club footed the bill to take the group to enjoy all the fun of the fair which had arrived in town earlier in the week.
“The rotary club is always kind to us,” said Jackie McPherson, the head teacher.
“Of course it meant the students having to miss some lessons which, as you can imagine, was devastating for them!”
It’s been a busy start of term for the new who is busy coping with an intake of a further 30 pupils following building works earlier in the year.
“It is the biggest intake ever” she said.
