SIXTY Coates Community Primary School pupils took part in their Christmas Nativity perfomance.

The play included a newspaper called the Bethlehem Star which reported on developments as the story unfolded.

Charis Gates, the play’s director and year one teacher, paid tribute to the children, all aged between three and seven, who put on three shows in front of their watching parents.

She said: “The children worked really hard and probably picked up things a lot quicker than adult actors would.

“The play had the Bethelem Star but we had 60 Coates stars this week.”
