A man enjoying a quiet rest on a public bench in Wisbech had a lucky escape when a motorist crashed into a nearby wall and mounted a raised flower bed
The female driver of the Vauxhall was trapped and had to be freed by fire crews and other emergency services.
The near miss happened in Church Terrace and police say they were called to the scene at 11.15am.
Two fire crews from Wisbech spent sometime freeing the woman motorist who was seen shortly afterwards being helped from the wreckage of her car.
The pedestrian is thought to have been taken to a nearby charity shop.
Police have appealed for witnesses- call 101 if you can help.
