The £1million Waterlees Playground held the spectacular event to mark National Playday.

The youngsters tucked into ice-creams and Asda supplied some snacks for the day.

National Playday, which has been running for 26 years, is the biggest celebration of children’s play in the UK.

Last year communities across the UK celebrated Playday at more than 850 events.
