A Christmas fair organised by The Friends of Whittlesey Library raised £124 towards their ongoing project to put wheels under some of the library’s shelving.
Marilyn Gregory from the Friends explained: “Once shelving can be moved, we can create space for social events to be held in the library.
“We are already planning to show the film Ping Pong in the new year.”
Members of the Friends group raised the cash on Saturday morning from the serving of refreshments, a raffle and the sale of Christmas decorations.
Craft stalls and Christmas stalls were also set up by local individuals and groups, and there was a Traidcraft stall.
Mrs Gregory added: “The fair was a great success, and we would like to thank everyone who supported us.”
