A schoolgirl has raised funds for a children’s charity and had her hair cut off to make a wig for youngsters who have lost theirs through cancer.
Former Neale Wade student Madison Collins, 14, had her locks lopped after deciding to help children less fortunate than herself.
Her mum Kelly Collins said: “She has been really excited. I’ve been more worried about it than her.
“Madison has seen other girls support the Little Princess Trust and was determined to do her bit to help.”
Her dramatic cut was carried out by hairdresser Stephanie Wright at Heaven Hair Studio in March.
Until recently Madison and her family lived in March but moved to St Ives where she now attends the University Technical College in Cambridge.
Fellow schoolmates held a non uniform day to help boost funds for the charity.
