HUNDREDS lined the streets of Manea on Saturday as the village came alive for its popular gala.

Families and community groups turned out in force for the colourful event, with spectators cheering the carnival parade through the village.

Firefighters from Manea Fire Station joined the parade, where they held a banner aloft to encourage recruitment, which has now begun again.

Youngsters flocked to attractions on Manea Playing Field while flower displays and a host of classic vehicles and motorcycles continued to delight the crowds.

Manea Silver Band kicked off the musical entertainment, which continued through the evening with a party in the park.
