There were 16 model railway layouts on show at the event, in Downham Road, alongside live model steam train rides and plenty of trade stands selling new and second-hand model railway equipment, scenic material and railway books.

The model railway layouts on display came from all around the region, in various gauges, scales and periods. In a separate hall there was a special narrow gauge display and members were also offering advice from exhibitors and members.

The winner of the Ely Standard competition to win a Hornby train set was Sam Denniss, aged nine, of Wheatsheaf Close, Ely. He attended the show with his mum Caroline Martin and presented with his new set by vie chairman of the club Keith Barker.

Winner of the family ticket was Nick Power, of Kings Avenue, Ely.
