Mr Cross, a fraud squad detective, battled breast cancer which was diagnosed in 2009 and following which he had two operations and endless chemotherapy.

Today he was at the GER Sports Club in March for his third charity drive to raise money for the oncology department at Peterborough City Hospital where he was treated.

His friend boosted the day’s proceeds by having his chest and back waxed.

For Roy ‘Mad Wax’ Wojtowych there have been much pain but as Mr Cross noted there was much gain too!
