Ian Moon, 48, will ride up and down the high street on a colourful bike towing an advertising trailer.

Mr Moon, who is married with two step-children, has 30 years experience working in printing but has struggled to find a job since he was made redundant by Bury St Edmunds firm Abbey Hine in November.

He said: “I kept applying everywhere for jobs but nothing’s happened. It is especially difficult working in printing because you find most people can print for themselves.

“I was having a discussion in the pub about how to get noticed and I mentioned I might create my own advertising trailer and cycle around to promote myself.

“Then someone suggested I could get on the bike and advertise other things.

“I’ve got a few friends I will advertise for but I’ve not spoken to many people yet so I’m hoping people will get in touch with me.”

Mr Moon is determined to give his new business, which he has named “One Green Orange”, every chance of success.

As well as riding a green and orange bike, he will wear colourful clothing to make him stand out as he pedals the town’s streets.

He said: “I Googled the idea and it turns out it has been done before but the people who have done it were not wearing colourful clothes like I will.

“I want to give this a real go and see if it is viable.

“I’m going to concentrate on March for the moment but if things work out I could always try this out in other towns.”
