Hundreds of people flocked to a model railway club’s annual exhibition on Saturday.

Fifteen model railway layouts were on display at Ely and District Model Railway Club’s event at Ely College.

There were five model steam train rides outside, trade stands selling new and second-hand model railway equipment and plenty of advice from exhibitors and Ely club members for anyone thinking of making a start in the hobby.

Enthusiasts also got a final chance to admire the club’s Thurston layout, which has won multiple awards at displays across the UK.

Club member John Crisp said: “It was an extremely successful day. There were families who came from all over the county. There must have hundreds of people there. The car park was full by 10.45am.”
