SNOW from this weekend’s big freeze meant hours of fun for Fenland families - from skating on Welney Wash to building snowmen outside homes.
Residents from March and Wisbech spent most of Sunday building picturesque snowmen after about 4in of snow settled over the Fens on Saturday night, bringing with it a hive of fun in streets and parks.
And the excitement of snow-related activity is expected to continue during the week as freezing temperatures mean it will take days for the white stuff to go, forecasters say.
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning after saying much of the snow could melt and then refreeze on untreated surfaces.
“Fog patches are also likely to form overnight in many areas, adding to the risk of disruption to travel in parts of the UK,” a spokesman said.
