The Year 8 students at Cromwell Community College, Chatteris, studied the work of Debora Hurd and Jennifer Vranes and then created their own landscape and architecture pieces using the artists as influence.

Oil pastel drawings were also created to represent the four seasons.

In music lessons, students analysed the work of famous film composers by identifying how music can represent certain moods or scenes, before creating their own pieces.

All of the work was shown in an exhibition, open to parents and students, last Wednesday in the music department.

Music teacher Corinna Holdaway said: “The exhibition was a huge success and many proud parents attended. The art and music departments are now busy planning their next collaborations.”
