There were stalls from a variety of organisations - from CamQuit and Age UK to bereavement counselling and NHS Cambridgeshire - and a series of demonstrations were given throughout the day, including massage, food tastings and chair based exercise.

Cllr French said: “It is amazing to see so many organisations and agencies that work towards improving health.”

The event was organised by Mytimehealth, an agency that provides health trainers at the three GP surgeries in March.

Community development worker Lesley Cuthbert said: “We help people with lifestyle changes, including improvement to diet, stopping smoking, and losing weight. Residents can be seen for up to six sessions a year on a one-to-one basis.

“We also organise healthy walks from the surgeries and the George Campbell leisure centre in March.”

Among the stall holders were: Aphrodite’s beauty salon in Chatteris, the Solo group that supports the bereaved, and the NHS Energize childhood obesity intervention programme. Fenland Arts Association, Action on Elder Abuse, and Care Network Cambridgeshire were also represented.
