NEALE Wade Community College is holding a sports festival on Tuesday for its Year 7 pupils and 234 Year 6 pupils from five local primary schools; Burrowmoor, Cavalry, Guyhirn, Townley and Westwood Junior.

The festival is being organised by staff and sixth form students at the college who are pursuing the Community Sports Leader Award. The festival will give all pupils a busy day of sport and introduce next year's intake of new pupils to the opportunities for sport at Neale-Wade and at local clubs that will be represented at the event.

David Kenning, Head of PE at Neale-Wade, said: "Participation in sport at school can help improve students' health, behaviour, attendance, attainment and leadership skills. "We are organising this festival to show our own students and pupils from our partner Primary Schools just how many opportunities there are for them to try different sports, both at Neale-Wade and in local clubs.

"We also hope the festival will help the Year 6 pupils to get to know the college before they start here in September.
