Getting online for banking and shopping will be part of courses open to residents in Fenland.

The free learning sessions in Wisbech and March are part of Be Online fortnight.

Circle Housing Roddons is offering local people the chance to attend one of two taster sessions which will explore the best ways to use essential services like banking and shopping online.

The sessions are on Monday March 2 from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the Oasis Centre in Wisbech and on Friday 6 March between 9.30am and 12.30pm at the March Youth and Community Centre.

Following the taster sessions, 12 places on a four week Be Online training course in Wisbech will be made available for those interested in learning more about the internet and developing their IT skills.

Anne Brighton, Managing Director at Circle Housing Roddons, said: “We’re looking forward to meeting members of the community at these taster sessions to help provide an insight into how the internet can help them.

“We’re also supporting Connecting Cambridgeshire’s campaign to get superfast broadband throughout Fenland because we know how vital the internet is to helping our residents live more independently.”
