A fun-packed programme of sports-based half-term holiday activities is on offer at Thomas Clarkson Academy, Wisbech.

Children aged from five to 13 can attend the activity programme, run by staff who work for the academy’s sports facility.

Sessions run each day from October 27-31. They cost £7.50 for half a day or £10 for a full day.

A discount is given for those attending every day - admission for the week is £40.

Reductions are also available for families with more than one child attending.

A school spokesman said: “The aim of the scheme is to offer maximum flexibility, affordability and most importantly, fun-packed activity-filled days for children. They have the opportunity to try a variety of sports, learn about team skills, co-ordination and communication.”

Activities include ball games, gymnastics, tennis, art and crafts, dodgeball, badminton, cheerleading and a Halloween party.

Steve Walker, sports lettings manager, said: “We have been operating this for a few years now and it has grown year by year with the amount of children that attend daily.

“It’s really important to us that they have fun and enjoy what we offer them and it’s important for us to provide good quality coaching.

“It is also an opportunity for the community to use these holiday clubs in the knowledge their child will be well looked after and will be trying sports and meeting people they may not normally within their school environment.”
