4 What is the most interesting thing that has ever happened to you?
What I find interesting is the rapport the business has, and I've got to know several generations of the same family. We've also been featured on several television programmes and holiday shows as well.
5 What do you like most about the Fens?
I enjoy the people, and like Fenland life.
6 Give us at least five pet hates.
That's difficult. I don't like smoking, and we especially don't allow it near the stalls. I can't think of anything else apart from swearing and abusive language, and that's not heard around the stall either.
7 What sort of car do you drive?
A gold top-of-the-range Mercedes. It's a saloon car so we've got enough room for the grandchildren.
8 What do you think about people who smoke?
That's their choice, but I'm against smoking in public places.
9 What is your favourite Fenland restaurant/pub?
The Plate and Porter, in Station Road, March. That would take a lot of beating.
10 What is the most money you spent in one day?
When I've bought a new car, a few thousand, but I have been known to spend about £500 on clothes. There's also nice holidays abroad.
11 What is the most romantic thing you have ever done?
Taking my wife to the Caribbean. We also got married on New Years Day 32 years ago.
12 Would you say you are fashion conscious?
Yes, reasonably. I've been told I am quite modern for my age.
13 What is on your bedside table?
The telephone. Sometimes the phone has five lines through it if I'm on call at the night. There's also my alarm clock.
14 If you had £100 to give to charity, who would you give it to, and why?
My daughter is chairperson for the NSPCC in the East, so I'd possibly donate it to them. But also possibly a cancer charity; my sister recently had half a lung removed.
15 Do you agree with the idea of private education?
Yes, I do. I don't really know why. Probably because it the education seems to be more one-to-one.
16 Name a town or country you would never want to return to.
I haven't been to too many different countries, but everywhere I have been I seem to enjoy. I've been to Leeds for work several times; I don't think much of it. But I think when you go somewhere, you enjoy the best of it that's available.
17 Who would you least like to sit next to on an aeroplane?
Tina Hobley, the actress.
18 If you were the Prime Minister, what would you abolish?
It wouldn't be taxes; they're a necessity. I'd certainly see smoking in public places totally stopped.
19 What is the worst job you have ever had to do?
Clearing out the drains at home. I really don't like doing that job.
20 Which person do you admire the most, and why?
Richard Branson. I know he had vast amounts of money when he started, but that never stopped him carrying on working. We only fly on his aircraft when we go away.
21 Your claim to fame?
Being very popular and running the best retail and wholesale fruit and veg business in the Fens.
22 What would you most like to be remembered for?
Always doing a good job and looking after our customers. I think if you're enthusiastic about what you do, you enjoy it more.
