Glass attack leaves man with head injuries

A MAN suffered serious injuries to his head after being struck with a glass at a hotel in Whittlesey.

The attack happened at about 9.30pm on Friday, October 26, in the smoking area to the rear of the George Hotel, in Market Place.

A MAN suffered serious injuries to his head after being struck with a glass at a hotel in Whittlesey.

The attack happened at about 9.30pm on Friday, October 26, in the smoking area to the rear of the George Hotel, in Market Place.

The man suffered cuts to his head and was taken to Peterborough District Hospital for treatment while the attacker left the scene.

Detective Constable Nicola Hood, from Huntingdon Police Station, said: "I would like to hear from anyone who was in the George Hotel that evening, particularly outside in the smoking area.

"There were many people around at the time of the attack that would have seen and heard what happened. I understand people may be reluctant to come forward, but this was an unprovoked and violent assault and I would urge anyone with information to come forward."

# A 26-year-old man from Whittlesey has been arrested in connection with the assault and has been bailed to Huntingdon Police Station on December 4.
