SCOUTS and cubs from Benwick took centre stage at the village Diamond Jubilee street party on Monday, when they raced along the High Street in their home made go karts.
Other village youngsters and even the village landlord joined in the fun, and medals were the winner, cub Tom Hutchins, and others youngsters who took part in the time trials.
The village was decked out in red, white and blue for the event, with more than 350 villagers joining in the fun, along with North East Cambridgeshire MP Steve Barclay. There was also some musical entertainment, a children’s treasure hunt, and fancy dress.
Benwick’s four days of celebrations also included a darts competition at the Five Alls pub on Friday, and a tug o’war competition and a children’s It’s a Knockout competition at the school on Tuesday.
