YOUNGSTERS at a Whittlesey school are helping to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special exhibition of memorabilia.

The anniversary museum at Alderman Jacobs School features memories and artefacts from the 1960s. It is almost complete and will be officially opened next Friday (June 18) by the Mayor of Whittlesey Councillor Derek Stebbing.

Plans for the celebrations are well underway and include the printing of a commemorative book, tea towels and a whole school and class photographs.

There will be an anniversary party on Wednesday July 21 with pupils asked to wear 1960s fashion or party wear. They will spend the day involved in games and activities from the 1960s. If the sun shines there will be a themed street party lunch on the school field.

The party day is being funded by the PTFA who have worked hard to raise funds over the year.
