CHAIRMAN Percy Smith welcomed members to the annual meeting of the Good Companions Club and presented a bouquet to Joan Margett, who had served on the committee as representative for the Emmanuel Church for many years and had now decided to stand down.

All officers were re-elected and thanks were given to the manager of the Working Men's Club and his wife for their help in allowing the function room to be used for the Companions' meetings.

After the serving of refreshments, Reg Wenn entertained members with a small programme of stories, poems and jokes.

At the next meeting, on June 2, names and money will be taken for the July tea party.
