CHATTERIS Good Companions kicked off the New Year with a visit from the Edinburgh Woollen Mill showing off their fashions. Several of the members acted as models.

The meeting was opened by vice-chairman Colin Greenwood who welcomed everyone including two members. The club prayer was read by Gweneth Kightly.

Members were pleasantly surprised to welcome chairman Percy Smith, who is recovering from illness. He thanked members for their cards and good wishes.

The monthly draw was organised by Mavis Cooper and Barbara Cudmore. Pearl Melton and her helpers served refreshments. The afternoon ended with members singing the club hymn led by Jan Lee.

Next meeting: February 2 (2.45pm).
