THE Good Companions Club celebrated its 59th birthday with a thanksgiving service at Emmanuel Church, conducted by Pastor Roger Davies. Celebrations continued with a dinner at the Working Men s Club with chairman Percy Smith welcoming members and guests.

THE Good Companions Club celebrated its 59th birthday with a thanksgiving service at Emmanuel Church, conducted by Pastor Roger Davies.

Celebrations continued with a dinner at the Working Men's Club with chairman Percy Smith welcoming members and guests. Guest at the dinner included Councillors Florence Newell and Sue Elam, along with Pastor Davies and Mrs Davies and the Rev Wendy Thomas. After dinner members were entertained by Irish singer Tom Kennedy from Manea.

The monthly draw was organised by Brenda Allen and Freda Aspinall.

The next meeting on October 6 will be the harvest festival thanksgiving.
