AN oak tree sapling was planted at the GER Outdoor Bowls Club in March to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Club chairman Arthur Paul did the honours, planting the tree in front of the club’s pavilion.
The sapling had been donated by club members June and Mike Hopkins.
June said: “I grew the sapling from an acorn, and thought it would grow to be a fitting tribute to the Queen. I planted the acorn in my garden two years ago, and I hope the tree will be a lasting reminder of the Jubilee celebrations.”
