POLICE are investigating an incident in which a jogger had a gun pointed at him by a passenger in a passing car.

The 49-year-old man was running along Upwell Road, March, away from the town centre, when a car described as an old-style red Ford Escort saloon pulled up beside him.

The front passenger side window was wound down and a man inside pointed a gun at the victim and threatened him. The car then drove off in the direction of the town centre.

The gunman is described as a white youth with ginger hair.

The incident happened between 8pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday (August 7).

PC Andy Minns, who is investigating, said: "This was a particularly nasty incident and the victim was left shocked and shaken.

"I would urge anyone with information to contact police. I would particularly like to speak to people who would have been travelling along Upwell Road at about the time this incident happened or recognises the vehicle or the person described."

Anyone with information should contact PC Minns, at March Police Station, on 0845 456 456 4, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
