“A couple of people have also shown some interest in adopting one of our cats, which is an added bonus.”

The charity currently has half a dozen fosterers caring for 40 cats, with 15 of the felines awaiting re-homing.

Dawn added: “The money raised from the hall of stalls held at St Peter’s Church Hall in Wisbech will be used to pay for food, litter and vets bills.

“Details of cats needing a new home can be found on the website, www.catwelfarewisbech.co.uk, or on the charity’s Facebook page.

She added: “The sale was so successful and so enjoyable that we are planning another one later in the year.”
