THE Chatteris King Edward Centre extended the hand of friendship on Saturday but only a handful of people took up the offer.
The Centre Association hosted a 'Hand of Friendship' Day inviting residents to say what activities they would like the centre to provide.
The event was aimed at newcomers including migrant workers. Organisers, waiting with leaflets printed in four languages, were left disappointed after only four visitors turned up.

"I know it sometimes takes a long time for things to get off the ground," he said
