HARVEST festival celebrations were held at St James Methodist Church on Sunday when the special preacher at the morning service was the Rev Penny Hughes, former minister of the church. The Church had been decorated by the members and everyone brought gifts for the harvest stall. All the goods were to be taken to the Sandcastle Home at Hunstanton. Musicians were

Joan Thompson (piano), Elaine Middleton (clarinet), Roger Dack (guitar), Pauline Beeken (organ), Graham Beeken (euphonium) and Simon Emmerson (keyboard).

After the service a lunch was prepared, cooked and served by Joy and Michael Smalley assisted by Joan and Colin Thompson, Mavis Fox, Bridget Fox, Anne Emmerson, Jean Dowe, Sue Dack and Graham and Pauline Beeken.

The evening service was conducted by the Rev Denise Hague. This took the form of a Songs of Praise. Bible readings were by Sue Askew, Joy Smalley and David Fairbrother. Musicians were Joan Thompson (keyboard), Roger Dack (guitar), Elaine Middleton (clarinet), Graham Beeken (euphonium), Pauline Beeken (organ), Alan Akred (clarinet) and Maurice Hawes (saxophone). Coffee and tea was served after the service.
