Staff at a residential home in Whittlesey have been fundraising so the grand daughter of one of their own can have a Disney adventure.
Lorraine Fenton’s two year-old grand daughter London Elizabeth, who lives with her mother in the US, has had a very difficult start to life - she was diagnosed with an acute form of leukaemia.
Chemotherapy followed, which damaged her lungs, but a recent bone marrow transplant seems to be working.
Staff at the Hermitage Residential Home have shown their support for Lorraine and London Elizabeth by raising £900, which will go towards paying for a trip to Disneyland Florida.
Mrs Fenton said: “Every little girl dreams of going to Disneyland. London Elizabeth loves princesses and Frozen.
“Last December, instead of buying Christmas cards, the staff decided to support London Elizabeth. They’ve held a cake sale and had t-shirts made. Even residents and their families have donated. Everyone has been brilliant.
“London Elizabeth and her mother would love to come back to live in Whittlesey once her treatment is finished.”
