Petrou Brothers' fish and chip shops in Chatteris and Leverington have joined the fish frying elite by being awarded the prestigious Seafish Friers Quality Award.

Seafish set up the friers quality award scheme in 1996 to raise standards within the fish and chip trade and enhance the industry's profile.

Each shop that meets the standards receives an award certificate and owner Mark Petrou and his staff were delighted to be presented with theirs by Seafish trade and quality executive Jim Hyam.

To qualify for the Friers Quality Award, each shop has to go through a thorough inspection. The award lasts for one year and retention is dependent on standards being maintained.
