Chatteris Town Band is celebrating after winning three cups. The band competed for the first time in 30 years in the East Anglian Brass Band Association's Spring Festival Competition at Norwich and took first prize in the hymn tune section, second place in the entertainment section, ending up in second place overall. The band has 27 regular members ranging in age from 12 to over 70. The band meets on Tuesdays, from 7.30-9.30pm
at the King Edward Centre.
Secretary Tircia Davis said: "We welcome new members, and particularly cornet players at the moment." The band has an active junior section which meets on Tuesdays from 6.30pm.
