Five fearless university workers will leap out of a plane at 15,000ft to raise funds for a mental health charity.

Stacey Borland, Eva Keyes, Jamie Stevens, Helen Stewart and Frazer Stone, who work at University Academy Holbeach (UAH), will take part in a charity skydive on March 8 at Chatteris Airfield in aid of Peterborough and Fenland Mind.

Stacey Borland, administration assistance at UAH, said: “We have chosen to fundraise for Peterborough and Fenland Mind because we feel that it is time to educate our students and members of the public about mental health.

“At least one in four of our students will experience poor mental health at some point in their lives and we aim to educate them on how to effectively help themselves and others.

“Through this we aim to make the public aware of how many people suffer from poor mental health and work towards removing the stigma attached to mental illness.”

Annie Jarvis, development officer at Peterborough and Fenland Mind said: “Not only are UAH raising money, but they are also helping to reduce the stigma that prevents so many people from seeking help. We are extremely grateful for all of their hard work.”

Peterborough and Fenland Mind is an independent mental health charity which provides free services for people across Stamford, Bourne, Spalding and Boston.
